I am the Sentinel
Grandfather to the soldier and the constable
Blood kin to all who would stand
Between the firelight and the darkness
To watch over you and yours when you cannot
To stand my vigil until another takes my post
To deter by being and protect when deterrence fails
To sound alarms, to take up arms, when danger comes
Others may falter or fade
Others may miss the footfall in the night
But not I and not my watch, for
I am the Sentinel
